Here’s What to Do When Your Furnace Won’t Ignite
We are trudging through the last few weeks of winter but we still need our furnaces, especially during cold nights. Nothing is worse than laying down at night and realizing your furnace won’t kick on. If your furnace won’t turn on, here are some things you can check yourself before your call Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters every 30 days. If you don’t, they can get clogged, blocking air flow and causing your furnace to malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
See if turning the temperature up a few degrees will get the furnace to turn on. If the current room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t kick on. Also, confirm the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem ridiculous, but verify the power switch next to the heating equipment is “On.” Even gas heating systems use electricity so make sure the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch has not been accidently switched to the “Off” position.
If you check all these things and your heating equipment will still not start up, give Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call at 954-736-4314 and we’ll come out and get you taken care of as soon as possible.
