Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning is proud to send NATE-Certified technicians into customers’ homes throughout North America every day. While this notation of being Nate-Certified decidedly sounds comforting, what does it truly mean?
NATE, an abbreviation for North American Technician Excellence, is the nation’s largest non-profit certification organization for heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration technicians. NATE is the certification organization that was developed by and has been acknowledged by the entire HVACR industry for nearly 20 years. However, not all technicians in the field are necessarily NATE-Certified. The certification is non-mandatory and technicians can service heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems without the certification.
It’s important to Service Experts that our team is NATE-Certified to make sure we are putting the most experienced technicians into our customers’ homes. To make sure technicians meet these qualifications, the NATE-Certification exams verify real-world working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems for technicians. The assessments are knowledge-based exams that evaluate the technician’s understanding of these rules.
Since Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning focuses largely on the HVAC side of NATE-Certification, our technicians achieve their designations in these areas. However, NATE assessment candidates may gain certification in any of these areas:
- Air Conditioning
- Air Distribution
- Gas Heating
- Oil Heating
- Heat Pumps
- Hydronic Gas (service only)
- Hydronics Oil (service only)
- Light Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
- Commercial Refrigeration (service only)
- Ground Source Heat Pump Loop Installer
- Senior HVAC Efficiency Analyst
